Namaskar everyone,

On May 16, 2021, members of the Nepali diaspora living in Manitoba came together to discuss how our community can be involved with the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases and subsequent hospitalizations in Nepal. I want to thank everyone who took time out of their busy day to attend the meeting to address the dire situation in Nepal. Despite the best efforts of front-line medical personnel, the country’s healthcare system is overburdened. The country is woefully underprepared for the current crisis, especially in terms of oxygen supply.

NRNA-Canada approached the Nepali Diaspora community through the Nepali Cultural Society of Manitoba for financial support to fulfil oxygen demand in Nepal. We want to request community members to support the endeavours.

Twelve community members who were present in the meeting pledged a total amount of $2068. We want to humbly request the Nepali diaspora in Manitoba to support fundraising efforts to fulfil oxygen demand in Nepal. We invite you to donate through:

1.      E-transfer: If you would like to donate through Interac e-transfer, please transfer to

2.      In-person: You are also welcome to donate through cheque or cash by contacting any of the Board Members.

Nepali Cultural Society of Manitoba will also explore other options, including approaching provincial and federal leaders for support.

As always, thank you so much for your continuous support. I hope you and your family continue to stay safe during these troubling and uncertain times. All donations, no matter the amount, are appreciated.
